Maintenance Technician

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Vocational training in field is acceptable. Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Welding
Driver's License: Valid state license
Location: Henderson, CO 
Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm; with availability for emergency call-out and flexibility
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally; operate equipment; walk across distances within plant environment and climb stairs; squat, stoop and bend around equipment 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant equipment to support the site's production of liquid and powder food safety products.
Incumbent must have a team mentality, critical thinking skills & strong problem-solving skills. He/she must also have interpersonal skills to communicate in a professional and effective manner with persons of different backgrounds. Must be able to determine root cause and perform preventive maintenance on critical process equipment and take part in and lead continual improvement initiatives. Must be able to prioritize work demands and work within an operational budget.

• Performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machinery and plant equipment
• Diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing and adjusting as necessary
• Assisting in developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for the plant
• Developing and maintaining safe work and maintenance work procedures
• Responsibility for HVAC, forklift, and landscape programs
• Capturing and reporting daily maintenance logs and target problem areas in order to establish capital expenditures budget
• Completing and submitting reports, work orders, and supply requests within a PO controlled environment
• Developing and maintaining working relationship with vendors; providing assistance to vendors as needed
• Creating, maintaining and managing inventory of spare parts and equipment
• Completing housekeeping duties and minor repairs (painting, minor remodels, office build outs, etc.)
• Complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas

• Participation in cost cutting initiatives
• Participation in sustainable and continuous improvement options for the plant
• Participation in ROI calculations for improvement projects

• Maintaining an awareness of and following procedures
• If procedures fail to result in desired outcome notifying supervisor
• Being involved in updates to procedures and suggesting improvements

• 5-7 years in manufacturing environment; experience repairing mechanical and electrical equipmen

• Plumbing, HVAC, welding, and basic electrical skills


• Must have team approach, great attitude and can do spirit; must be highly dependable
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to schedule, accommodate and coordinate equipment repairs after normal production hours; ability to respond to emergency situations outside normal work hours
• Basic computer skill. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite & email software
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Valid state driver's license
